Corporate Audio Visual Services Enhances Northern Lights Gala

Elmsford, NY - (December 15, 2006) - Corporate Audio Visual Services (CAVS), a specialist in audio, video, lighting and staging solutions for conferences, meetings and special events, recently contributed to the highly successful Northern Westchester Hospital's Northern Lights Gala, held in November. CAVS coordinated all audio visual services for the gala, which took place in a 22,000 square foot tent erected in the hospital parking lot.

"Precise planning and coordination of audio and visual needs was essential because of the size of the event and the unique challenges of outfitting a large tent," says Ed Morrell, CAVS Project Manager for the event. "Each person had to be able to see and hear the band, presentations and awards from any location in the tent. Sound reverberated throughout the tent so we had to choose specific types of speakers to minimize feedback and maximize intelligibility."

CAVS hung a 12 by 20 foot high definition wide screen on a truss above the presentation stage, along with two 61 inch plasma screens hanging on the truss, and four 50 inch plasmas on the floor so all 2000 guests could clearly see the presenters, slide show, and video. The event required a total of 30 speakers hung from trusses. Morrell stated that "by hanging the speaker system from above the audience, we were able to maximize the floor space in a tight room, and improve our volume control so that speeches were clear, but guests could still carry on conversations at their tables.
